CONFERENCE FEE

(FOR EXTERNAL PARTICIPANTS outside the UNWE and partner universities and organizations):

All participants from the UNWE and the partner universities and organizations are exempt from the fee for participation in the conference.

The conference fee for Bulgarian participants outside UNWE and partner universities and organizations is 120.00 (one hundred and twenty) Bulgarian levs (BGN) (including VAT).

The conference fee for foreign participants outside UNWE and partner universities and organizations is 60.00 (sixty) Euro (including VAT).

PUBLICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. MANUSCRIPTS MUST NOT HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED IN OTHER PUBLICATIONS.

2. Authors must attach an AUTHORSHIP DECLARATION (according to the template). The template is listed on the conference website. This declaration certifies that the manuscript has not been published in other publications. The declaration, signed by the author and scanned, should be sent to the conference e-mail: mladiucheniconf@unwe.bg, together with the APPLICATION FOR PARTICIPATION (according to the template).

3. In case of a co-authorship – each author need to fill out and attach a CO-AUTHORSHIP DECLARATION (according to the template), indicating the participation of each author in the paper. The declaration, signed by each co-author and scanned, should be sent to the conference e-mail: mladiucheniconf@unwe.bg, together with the REGISTRATION FORM (according to the template).

4. The papers are submitted within the specified deadline to the conference e-mail: mladiucheniconf@unwe.bg.

5. The accepted papers, formatted according to the requirements - after reviewing process by the Editorial Committee of the conference, will be published in the Conference Proceedings in an electronic format with an ISBN number. The Conference Proceedings are included in the National Reference List of Contemporary Bulgarian Scientific Publications with Scientific Review of NACID.

6. In order for the Conference Proceedings to be published in the Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL), each author should fill out a CEEOL DECLARATION (according to the template) and submit it to the Conference Organizing Committee.

7. Each participant with a paper will receive the Conference Proceedings in an electronic form.

8. The time for presenting and discussing one paper is 10 minutes.

9. Presentation of a paper at the conference need to be done with a Power Point presentation.

10. The author(s) present their paper in person at the conference.

FORMATTING REQUIREMENTS

1. Each paper should be written according to the PAPER TEMPLATE (attached below).

2. Maximum volume of the paper is 8 pages, incl. tables, figures (graphs and diagrams) and bibliography.

3. Papers can be written and presented in the working languages of the conference - Bulgarian and English.

4. Papers will be published in the language in which they are presented.

5. The first page of the paper should contain the following information:

Title of the paper - in Bulgarian

Name and surname of the author(s) - in Bulgarian

The academic degree, academic position, place of work, correspondence address and e-mail address of the author(s) should be given as a footnote for each author - in Bulgarian

Abstract (maximum 300 words) - in Bulgarian

Keywords (maximum 5 words) - in Bulgarian

4. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams (schemes) and references to the text in the abstract.

5. On the first page, the title of the paper, the names of the author(s), scientific degree and academic position, place of work, as well as the abstract and keywords for Bulgarian participants must be written in Bulgarian and English. For foreign participants - they must be written in English.

6. Papers are prepared in Word 2000 version or higher in A4 format (about 40 lines per page).

8. Papers prepared in Bulgarian must contain one Abstract in the working language – up to 300 words, and one Abstract in English – up to 300 words.

9. Papers prepared in English must contain only an Abstract in English – up to 300 words.

Report title: Times New Roman, 14 pt, cap lock, bold, centered.

Page numbering: bottom, centered.

Name and surname of the author(s) (placed after one blank line after the title): Times New Roman, 12 pt, bold, centered.

Abstract (placed one blank line after the name and surname of the author(s)): Times New Roman font, 12 pt, italic, justified.

Keywords (placed one blank line after the abstract): Times New Roman font, 12 pt, italic, justified.

Subtitles: Times New Roman font, 12 pt, bold, centered.

Formulas should be centered and numbered on the right (1), (2),…

12. Graphs and tables

All graphs and diagrams should be labeled as figures and numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. Titles should be placed below the figures.

Graphs and diagrams should not be placed in the text as photographs, but as editable images.
Tables should not be placed in the text as photographs, but as editable tables.

Tables should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. Titles should be placed above the tables.

The source of the data in a table should be indicated below the table. Text in Bulgarian and English may be included in tables and figures – font Times New Roman, 10 pt, normal.

13. Citations

When citing publications by another author or authors in the text, the following rules should be followed:

Krugman at al., 1997; Born (1998) and Jones (2001); Barney (1991; 1994).

When citing publications by other authors in the text, the following rules should be followed.

When citing a specific text from another publication, the pages should be cited: Pavlov (2002, p. 333) claims that ". . . . . . ". Without citing a specific text, it is only: Pavlov (2002) confirms the thesis of the existence of a connection . . .

When the name of the author is not directly indicated in the text, it is placed in parentheses together with the year of publication: This problem has already been studied (Krugman et al., 1997).

When more than one author is mentioned in one sentence, they are cited: Smith (2000) and Born (2002) also prove that . . . .

In the case of more than one publication on the topic by a given author, the reference is: As suggested by Barney (1991; 1997) . . . or Studies in the 1990s (Barney, 1991; 1997) show that . . .

If several publications by the same author in the same year are used, a lowercase letter a, b, c, etc. is added after the year. Example: An earlier study by Porter (1990a) shows that . . . , but a later study by Porter (1990c) expands this statement with new aspects.

When citing secondary sources, the format is: A study by Brown (2000, cited in Smith, 2004, p. 120) shows that . . .

The bibliography should be listed after the main text, without numbering the literary sources.

Sources (publications, etc.) are arranged in alphabetical order of the authors' surnames - first in Cyrillic, then in Latin and other languages.

Under each cited source in Cyrillic - in Bulgarian, the same source, written according to the rules of the Transliteration Act, should be given.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee we have the honour and the pleasure to invite you to participate in the 19^th International Scientific Conference of Young Scientists “The Economy of Bulgaria and THE European Union: CHALLENGES, CONFLICTS, SOLUTUONS”, which will be held on 7 – 8 November 2024 at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE), Sofia, Bulgaria.

The Finance and Accounting Faculty at the UNWE, Sofia, organizes this conference under the patronage of the Rector of UNWE Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov, Ph.D. and the co-organizers of the conference are the following leading national and foreign universities and organizations:

- Union of Economists in Bulgaria (UEB), Sofia, Bulgaria;

- Student Council at UNWE, Sofia, Bulgaria;

- University of Bologna – Alma Mater Studiorum Universita di Bologna-Sede di Rimini, Bologna, Italy;

- University of Split, Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism, Split, Croatia;

- Poltava University of Economics and Trade, Poltava, Ukraine;

- Lutsk National Technical University, Lutsk, Ukraine;

- University of Rijeka, Faculty of Economics and Business, Rijeka, Croatia;

- Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje, Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia.

The aim of the international conference is for young scientists – doctoral candidates, teachers, early stage researchers, as well as students, to present their scientific research to the academic community and discuss economic problems with Bulgarian and foreign scientists. This scientific forum is being held for the 20th time in a row, as the published scientific results from the previous scientific conferences prove the significant potential for the future professional development of young scientists. The format and organization of the scientific event are aimed at creating an academic atmosphere conducive to dialogue and exchange of ideas between the different levels of the academic community and business representatives.

The conference is also open to the participation of students (Bachelor and Master's degree), presenting their research interests and studies. Students participate in the sessions and discussions with prominent professors, scientists, policymakers and business representatives.

The conference is financed by a university scientific project for a scientific event under contract No. NID NF-1/2025/B.

THEMATIC AREAS OF THE CONFERENCE:

1. Financial policy, financial markets, banking, investments, insurance and social security;

2.. Accounting policy and practice, accounting standards, financial audit, control systems and internal control;

3. Research and science, research and development, science-business relationship, innovation, competitiveness, project management;

4. Entrepreneurship, management, marketing, corporate control and business development in Bulgaria, in the EU and globally.

Bulgarian;

English.

Participation in the conference is in person at the UNWE, Sofia, in the Large and Small conference halls, and online via MS Teams eletronic platform.
